Pin It Paper Flowers

Paper flowers seem so easy to make. I just never knew how they were made no matter how hard I tried to crumble tissue paper together and try to make it "bloom." But when Valentines rolled around, I knew I needed to get some training.

Once I took the quick course, Ava and I set out to try some blooms of our own. Here's how to do it:
Materials: 6 sheets of tissue paper 8.5" x 11", scissors, pipe cleaner

Step 1: Choose 6 different colors of tissue paper and begin folding accordion style {about 1" thick} making approx 10 folds. {Tip: If you have long sheets of tissue paper, cut them to size using a cardboard template and cut several stacks at once}.

Step 2: Tie the middle of your fold with a pipe cleaner. Then cut and round out the left and right ends with your scissors.

Step 3: Lay flat, and with one hand, begin to peel each tissue paper "layer" forward, using your fingers to gently tug it forward and shape.

Then make a bunch for a bouquet! The trick was to round out the ends before you begin to unfold the layers - makes a big difference doesn't it? These would be perfect to make anytime of the year really - and for any occasion.
